A0117 : American Belleek Ceramic Art Company vase Ceramic Art Company $250.00
Category : Pottery and Porcelain
Sub Categories : Belleek, American, CAC
The Ceramic Art Company latter became Lenox . The vase has the lavender CAC Belleek mark (1889-1906). It is 7 1/2" tall and 4 1/2" wide with a reticulated design around the rim and heavy gold painted owl and tree branch decoration. The quality of the art work would enforce the belief that this mark indicates factory decorated. There is a very faint (almost not visable) hairline crack above the blue base that goes in a circular path up to the owl and into the tree branch. The hairline can not be felt and could easily be missed by a casual observer. A vase with this shape and size can be found in the book "Collecting American Belleek" by Loman and Petula Eng on page 84, plates 153-4.
