This ewer is hand painted and has the Willets Belleek factory decorated red mark (1879-1909). Robinson and Feeny in the “Official Price Guide to American Pottery and Porcelain” (1980) write that the mark was usually found on smaller items, often decorated with small roses (like those on the vase). The ewer is in mint condition.

The 8” by 4 ¼” bowl has hand painted roses, and heavily painted blue enamel dots in a gold net like pattern. The base is marked with the mold number 413. It has Willets brown mark (1879-1909). It is also initialed N.J. This bowl was purchased from a descendent of N. J. Case along with many other examples of her china painting. She was a very talented amateur china painting artist and normally signed her work N.J. Case. There is very minor wear on the tip one handle.
