B0000 : Irish Belleek three strand Birds Nest Basket Belleek $900.00
Category : Pottery and Porcelain
Sub Categories : Belleek, Irish
A rare basket in mother of pearl finish, 4" in diameter. There are two Parian pads marked Belleek Fermanagh. This mark was used in 1865 to 1890. An identicle basket appeared on Home and Garden Appraisal Fair and was appraised at $1200 to $1400. Degenhardt's second edition book (1993) lists this as D123 and gave it a value of $950.Please note in the Please note in the photo of the basket that there is one flower with a slightly greenish tint and two petals with mior damage. A black light indicates there have been no repairs to this basket. This includes the flower with the tint. We have had this basket in our home since the 1970’s and no one except us ever noticed it. I have an email from the Belleek Company agreeing that this occurred probably when a brush had not been cleaned properly at the factory.

B0169 : Irish Belleek, unpainted, flowered, Shamrock basket Belleek $275.00
Category : Pottery and Porcelain
Sub Categories : Belleek, Irish, Basket
The basket is 4 strand, marked “Belleek”, “CO FERMANAUGH”, “IRELAND”. It appears to have a 2 pad mark but is most likely a three pad mark with the first two pads overlapping making it look like one pad. This would then date the basket to be made from 1921 to 1954. Please excuse the photo of the pad mark. Because the pad has been put on over the basket weave, it leaves a wavy surface that is makes it impossible to get an entirely readable pad mark with a camera.

The vase is 10 ¾’ tall and was discontinued in 1985. It is marked with the 2nd green mark. Degenhardt gives it number D1188. The Celtic line was designed by Madame Boroniuxz, a Hungarian designer in the 1922-26 black mark era. We find this vase and associated candlesticks to be very difficult to find at auctions or shows and appear to be of limited production and rare. Many of our Belleek customers were unaware of them. Marion Langham, the author, would seem to agree judging by the values assigned by her. The candlesticks are also for sale on our web site. The first photo shows the vase with 2 candlesticks. The price shown is for the vase only. It is in mint condition.
